A Religion of Love & Romance
Every lover separated from his sweetheart is certainly a lonesome God, but he lacks only the love of ‘the one woman’ of one little heart which he worships.
Hinduism is the only religion in the world where the all powerful God, all knowing God is as romantic, adventurous, majestic and heroic as any movie star in any modern film. He loves madly, He enjoys Intensely, He works passionately, and when time comes He fights wonderfully. But all whatever He does is always the apex of nobleness. He never does, all just happens. So it is called lila - the pastimes.
His pastimes in all incarnations are to promote dharma or Hinduism and inspire humanity to find its way to Him who is embodied Enlightenment or we can say ‘ordinarization’ of the omnipotent.
Love is a principle motif of Hinduism which occupies a powerful position in the formation of its precepts and practices. Look at the bewitchingly beautiful love and romance of Laxmi and Narayan, Shiva and Parvati, Sita and Rama, Radha and Krishna. They are so enchantingly depicted by a Shakespeare of India, the magical poet Kalidas.
When you see God making love there are two possibilities. If animal nature is too strong in you then you will be excited, or condemn it. But if divine nature is strong, a sacredness will overshadow the act of lovemaking. You will be bathed with serene joy, you will be entranced in devotion.
When you go to Vrindaban, a wonderful holy place between Delhi and Agra all you see is amorous dance, love inundating poses of the eternally youthful Goddess and God, Radha and Krishna.
Love songs of their union and pain of separation are being sung congregationally and devotees are blissed out.
With all those Love and fun afairs and night life around the Giriraj area, still nobody ever thinks of sex. No indecent advances towards ladies have ever been heard of.
Rasa lila is full of Krishna’s wild dance with Radha and hundreds of milkmaids all night long. Drama is enacted in holy occasions.
I saw even materialistic Hindus shading tears of devotion watching it. Couple of hours long discourse I have given on it during my Bhagavat katha. It is in English just listen to it and check whether animal or divine nature predominates in you.
Sex, romance and suspense have so elaborately been divinized in Hindu scriptures that sex has lost all its harmful side effects of toxins , alcohol and other venoms which deaden spirituality in an instant.
We have history of a great King turned Yogi and meditating in the forest, and an angelic maiden fell in love with him. Every day became honey suckle day and every night honey moon night, but after a baby was born the fever of love subsided. The Yogi returned to his mission. He rises up and falls in his meditation. After 3 times he succeeds to be so powerful , all knowing that he was able to construct his own planet. It is believed he still resides in a nearby planet and helps his likes. He is immortal in the heart of all well read Hindus as, Rishi Visvamitra.
Khajuraho town has 4 ancient temples depicting sexual plays in an utterly innocent way from top to bottom. They are to examine the visitor’s caliber Spiritual Quotient level.
If you go excited, stimulated your serenity level falls beneath the standard. You are then disqualified to receive energy current - transfusion inside the temple.
Lord Shiva is meditating for long, and Parvati, a stunning youthful beauty comes to see Him. Kama, an angel enticer of sex desire shoots Him with an arrow of sex desire. Shiva did not lose His coolness. Kama invests all his might that not only all men and women indulged in passionate embrace but also animals, birds , trees , reptiles started making love all over the world. Shiva became alert and peered for the intruder. At last He spotted him. Fire shoot forth from His third eye and culprit was turned into ashes. Shiva vanished in thin air.
It’s a beautiful story in Shiva chronicle.
Parvati’s cry of torment filled the hills and dales. She meditates to marry with Him. Shiva does marry her at last and then song and music came back , lovely days came back , golden nights returned. What’s that?
Lord Shiva and Parvati have between them all expressions of love but absolutely free from venomous sexuality. Today beastly sex has become big problem. It has entered not only industrial, political and business areas but also encroached university campus. Now sex is a growing science. Science has jumped on sex experiments. Now mystery of sex is in your hands. Have it or loose it forever. If you want to preserve it Hinduism is a way.
Radha is singing in Vrindaban,
How shall I tell of my unbounded joy, my dear?
Krishna abides day by day in my heart
A shawl in winter is my beloved, a gentle breeze in the summer,
A shelter from storm, and a boat on the river.
Another time , another occasion
What would you ask of my feeling, my dear?
From the day of my puberty I am seeing His beauty
And yet my eyes fail to recognize.
My ears have heard His speech always
but satiation is still far away.
Krishna says to Radha,
Only one word is my encyclopedia
Radha , Radha , Radha – My Golden Love
But , it is also true I never seem to know you aright.
You seem to me like a goddess hidden within a golden image
My love will burn as the flame of Salvation
And soothe your heart whereever you are
Hinduism says thru Krishna,
If you love me because I love you is a sheer business.
Not reciprocating a true love is a dullard.
Getting cheated upon high dose reciprocation is the symptom of being intuitively blind.
Love is love only when it is causeless, expectation-less, unconditional and ever increasing.
Love which grows out of proportion, submerging lover and beloved to its Atlantic depths.
Love is love only when it makes you timeless, breathless and identity-less blissful thrills or even tormentation of love pierced by venom tipped fire arrow.
This state of love is the Absolute Truth, the rest is illusion. The path of disillusionment is Hinduism.
